Marc is a swiss born in Berlin in 1981, he started playing piano and improvising at the age of 6. He studied at the Geneva Conservatory until 2001 and obtained his diploma in 2004 at the Lausanne Jazz School.
Alongside the release in 2006 of his first album Stream Out, in duo with the Frenchdrummer Sylvain Ghio, he won the Patino grant in collaboration with the International Cityof Art, Paris and several contests such as the “Montreux jazz Chrysler Award” in 2003, the “Friedlwald grant” in Zurich in 2005 as well as the “Award for Best Soloist” at the International Bern Festival in 2006. He was finalist of the International Jazz contest of la Défense in Paris the same year and won in 2010 with Marc Perrenoud Trio the ZKB Jazz contest in Zurich.
Since 2008, the group "Marc Perrenoud Trio" has given more than 300 concerts in all the major festivals and jazz clubs around the world.
The trio’s three albums have been respectively “Best jazz selling” in Switzerland (Logo, 2008), rewarded "revelation" by the French magazine Jazzmagazine (Two Lost Churches, 2012) and "revelation" by the music magazine of the BBC London and Jazzmagazine Paris.
His third trio CD, Vestry Lamento was rewarded “Editor’s pick January 2014” by the prestigious American magazine "Downbeat"

Marc Perrenoud’s 2013/2014 season includes the production by the Mezzo TV channel of a 90 minutes reportage of the concert of Marc Perrenoud Trio at Cully Jazz Festival, as well as playing at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the New York Lincoln Center, Snug Harbour in New Orleans, Ronnie Scott in London, Paris’ Duc des Lombards, the A Trane in Berlin, the Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival and the JZ in Shanghai.
In 2015, Marc plays in some of the most important jazz festival like London Jazz Festival, Basel off Beat or take part of the Beirut based festival « Global week for Syria ». He appears in many radio shows, amongst others, Jamie Cullums showcases on BBC2 London and WWOZ in New Orleans with Jerry Roll Justice.
The same year, he plays a big solo tour from St Petersburg to Tripoli lebanon going through Munich, Zurich, Prag and Paris. He also take part of the Karama Festival in Amman Jordan and plays in a «female protection center» in Zarqa.
In December 2015 he records his firs solo piano album. ( Hamra, realize spring 2016)
He played with many musicians like Grégoire Maret, Kendrick Scott, Mina Agossi, Guillaume Perret, David Enhco, Baenz Oester, Marco Mueller, Cyril Regamey, Pedro Segundo, Pierre Audétat, Sylvain Ghio, Robert Kubyzin, Jeremy Bruyère, Claudio Strüby etc...
Marc Perrenoud teaches at the Conservatory of Geneva. He is co- founder and artistic director of the festival "the Athénéennes" in Geneva.

Marc Perrenoud (piano) né en 1981 à Berlin. Il Commence le piano à 6 ans, à Zurich.
Il obtient son diplôme au sein du conservatoire de Lausanne en 2004 dans la classe de
Monsieur Yannick Délez avec mention excellent. Post grade à Paris avec Monsieur Eric
Watson (USA).

Parallèlement, il gagne plusieurs concours dont le « Montreux jazz Chrysler Award» en 2003, la bourse Friedlwald, Zurich 2005 ainsi que le prix du meilleur soliste au International jazz Festival Bern 2006. Finaliste du concours international de jazz de la Défense, Paris en 2006. En 2010 Il remporte avec « Marc Perrenoud Trio » le concours « ZKB jazzpreis» à Zurich. La même année il sera invité à se produire au Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival
Il a joué avec de nombreux musiciens dont : Mina Agossi, Kendrick Scott, Cyril Regamey, Pedro Segundo, Jeremy Bruyère, Grégoire Maret, Marco Muller, Guillaume Perret, David Enhco, Pierre Audétat, Sylvain Ghio, Fabian Gisler, Robert Kubyzin, Claudio Strüby etc...
Il sort « Stream Out » en 2006, duo avec le batteur Français Sylvain Ghio. Nominé dans la catégorie «meilleur disque de jazz 2006» par le magazine américain «all about jazz» En 2007, Il gagne la Bourse Patino, en collaboration avec la Cité internationale des arts de Paris.
Il sort « logo » en 2008, disque en trio paru sous le label allemand Neuklang (Bauer Studios Ludwigsburg). Parmi les meilleures ventes jazz 2008 en Suisse, « logo » est unanimement salué par la critique internationale.
Marc Perrenoud trio est sélectionné en 2011 par le programme « encouragement prioritaire au jazz » de la fondation Pro Helvetia
En 2012 il sort son deuxième disque en trio « Two Lost Churches » chez le label Challenge International records. Elu Révélation par le magazine français Jazzmagazine. La chaîne de télévision Mezzo produit un reportage de 90 mintues lors du concert de Marc Perrenoud Trio à Cully jazz festival. La même année, il donne un concert en trio dans la très prestigieuse Allen Room à New York. (Jazz at Lincoln Center).
En 2013 il sort son 4ème disque, «Vestry Lamento» chez Challenge International Records. Elu disque du mois (janvier 14) dans le très prestigieux magazine américain «Downbeat» ainsi que «révélation» par le magazine de la BBC à Londres et Jazzmagazine à Paris.
En 2014 Marc Perrenoud se produit en solo dans le cadre du Montreux Jazz Festival. La même année, il sera invité à présenter son répertoire trio aux Etats Unis, notamment à New- York, Los Angeles et la Nouvelle Orleans. Puis il se produira dans les plus grandes villes chinoises ( Pekin, Shanghai, Hong-Kong et Hangzhou et Taipei Taiwan) et suivra une intense tournée dans les capitales européennes dont un concert au mythique club de jazz londonien: The Ronnie’s Scott.
Depuis 2008, le groupe « Marc Perrenoud Trio » a donné plus de 450 concerts à travers le monde.
En 2015 Marc Perrenoud joue en trio dans plusieurs grands festivals internationaux dont le London Jazz Festival, Basel Off Beat ou encore « global week for Syria » à Beirut. Marc Perrenoud Trio sera sélectionné par l’émission de Jamie Cullum sur BBC4 à Londres.
La même année il entame une tournée solo de St Petersbourg à Tripoli Liban en passant par Munich, Zurich ou encore Prague et Paris. Marc Perrenoud se produit également lors du Karama Festival Amman Jordanie et est invité à jouer dans la « female protection center » à Zarqa en décembre 2015.
Marc Perrenoud enseigne au Conservatoire Supérieur de Genève. Il est cofondateur et directeur artistique du festival « les Athénéennes » à Genève.

Marc Perrenoud, 1981 in Berlin geboren, begann im Altern von 6 Jahren Klavier zu spielen. Er studierte bis 2001 am Konservatorium in Genf und machte seinen Abschluss 2004 an der Ecole de Jazz in Lausanne.
Noch während des Studiums gewinnt Perrenoud 2003 den "Montreux Jazz Chrysler Award". Danach, 2005, das Stipendium der Stiftung Friedl Wald sowie den Preis für den besten Solisten beim Internationalen Jazzfestival in Bern. Sein erstes Album „Stream Out“ – im Duo mit dem französischen Schlagzeuger Sylvain Ghio - erscheint 2006. Noch im selben Jahr spielt sich Perrenoud ins Finale des Internationalen Jazz-Wettbewerbs von La Défense Jazz Festival in Paris. 2007 gründet er sein nach ihm benanntes Trios, mit dem er 2010 den „ZKB Jazzpreis“ gewinnt.
Seit 2008 spielte das Marc Perrenoud Trio mehr als 300 Konzerte und war Teil von wichtigen Festivalund Club-Programmen weltweit. Die bis heute erschienenen drei CDs wurden von der Fachwelt wie vom Publikum gefeiert: Das Debüt „Logo“ (Neuklang, 2008) erreichte den Status "Bestseller Jazz" in der Schweiz. Als "Offenbarung" wurde die zweite CD „Two lost churches“ (Dlouble Moon, 2012) vom französischen Fachblatt Jazzmagazine betitelt. Das renommierte amerikanische „Downbeat“ kürte die dritte CD „Vestry Lamento“ (Double Moon 2013) zum "Album des Monats" (Januar 2014). Als weitere "Offenbarung" zeichnete die Musikzeitschrift der BBC London und das Jazzmagazine Paris den neuesten Wurf des Trios aus.
